Fast food chain's deal for St Ames shop falls through
Mr Slubb's hopes of opening a fast food store in St Ames this autumn have been scuppered after a deal to acquire a town centre premises fell through.
Businessman Martin Simons, who holds the Mr Slubb franchise in the town and wanted to open the new store, lamented "It's unfortunate the deal could not be closed. The search for a premises in the town centre continues."
And Mr Slubb's Regional Manager Craig Watson added: "It is frustrating for us, because we're keen to open in St Ames."
"There's always a risk of this happening until both parties sign the dotted line."
The deal was so close to being completed that a planning application was submitted to Sedgemoor District Council requesting permission to install various Mr Slubb's branded signs at the property.
The plans covered illuminated signs, fascia signs, a boards, window graphics and van signs.
